These past three years have taught me so much about life as well as my writing. They have given me the confidence to write about myself and not just characters I have created. I have learned not to compare my words to someone else’s as everybody’s different. Don’t overthink it.
Don’t Overthink It
I am twenty years old, born and raised in Co. Monaghan, and graduating from a course that I’ve spent the past three years growing up in. I write nonfiction and poetry which I have learned to share with the world. These years have been about exploring new genres and creating work I never thought I could. I have learned to look beneath the surface, using my writer’s eye to paint a picture of my life and my experience of growing up in a pandemic taking off the glasses and seeing the truth underneath.
