I learned many new skills such as lighting, directing, playwriting, improvisation and stage management. Work placement gave me an insight into the workings of a theatre. Using my time productively to gain as much experience as possible, I now know that I want a career in the theatre. I intend to continue my training and find employment using the knowledge I have obtained with my time here.
When I was a teenager, I often used drama to improve my social skills. I enjoyed it so much I wanted to pursue it as a career. When I got the chance to study Performing Arts at IT Sligo, I knew it was a great way to not only develop my skills as an actor but also to help in my everyday life. All the lecturers are very approachable and will help you and encourage you to do your best.
